V INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL MÄRJAMAA FOLK
4-8th August 2010 takes place international festival Märjamaa Folk, where we are expecting guests from Norway, Finland, Latvia, Israel, Ireland, Belarus.

Sunday, 1 August
14.00 VII Concertina Day in Naistevalla on Jäntsi-Jaani farm (ca 2-3 km from Märjamaa)
Wednesday, 4 August
18.00 The official opening of the festival on the central square by the culture club.
20.00 A group *3 musketeers* performs on the central square.
After the concert Festival Club in the canteen of Märjamaa Gymnasium- different nationalities teach the steps of their folk dances .
Thursday, 5 August
18.00 Concerts on the central square (guests and local groups)
Singing together in the culture club.
20.00 A group named *Tuulepuu* gives a concert on the central square.
After the concert Festival Club in the school-canteen.
Friday, 6 August, A day for CHILDREN and YOUTH
12.00-19.00 An exhibition of old brass-instruments in Ly’s Gallery (in the culture club on the first floor( Br. Engl.) from Jaan Viertek’s collection)
12.00 Concerts on the central square by different performers (young folk dancers,a display of the athletics club Piruett, hip-hop dancers, young violinists). In skate park show and competitions at the same time.
16.00 Dogs’ show near the school.
18.00 Concerts on the central square
Singing together in the culture club.
20.00 A concert of the orchestra of the Estonian mandolinists on the central square.

Saturday, 7 August
10.00 Sports competitions on the school- stadium
11.00 Handicraft fair on the song festival gound
13.00 An exhibition of old cars by the culture club.
18.00 A procession of all the participants of the festival through Märjamaa (It begins in Haimre Alley, follow Pärnu Street and Kasti Street and it ends on the song festival ground)
The main concert on the song festival ground takes place after the procession and it ends with dancing to music of the group Justament.
Tickets: 50EEK children/ pensioneers ; 75 EEK adults (bought in advance)/ 75EEK/ 100 EEK on the day of the festival on location.
Sunday, 8 August
11.00 church service in Märjamaa lutheran church. Andres Jäätma’s concert in the church.
We expect guests to come and perform from Letland, Finland, Norway, Israel, White Russia, Ireland and an official delgation from Sweden from the sister town of Märjamaa from Vara.
In addition to them perform folk-dance and song-groups from Märjamaa, young folk-dancers from Leigarid, mixed folk-dance groups Koidupuna and Jürid-Marid; female folk-dance group Loolill, young violinists, athletics club Piruett, the orchestra of Estonian mandolinists, hip-hop dancers, the camp of Estonian-Latvian- Lithuanian folk-dance group leaders.
